World Day for Decent Work

On this World Day for Decent Work, we honored the invaluable contributions of all workers, with a particular focus on migrant workers. Hosted by MAP Foundation, HRDF, AWO, and Yaung Chi Oo at the Monte Maesot Hotel in Mae Sot, Thailand, the event highlighted the important role of labor especially migrant workers in the global economy, Thailand’s growth, and the Mae Sot economic zone. Discussions underscored the urgent need for improved labor rights and conditions for migrant workers and introduced a collaborative action plan among stakeholders to advance these rights in Mae Sot.

The event also included a Q&A session where migrant workers shared their experiences, raised questions, and engaged in discussions with professors, civil society organizations, and government agencies dedicated to human rights and migrant advocacy.
