The Statement of
The Network of Human Rights of Women and LBT Women for
A Women's Global Strike, Chiang Mai, Thailand
We are women workers and migrant workers, ethnic/indigenous women, LBT women, women living with HIV, women sex workers, stateless women, elderly women, girls and young women, rural women in agriculture, women who were pregnant and did abortion, women with disabilities, feminists, women who fight for democracy, women who protect human rights, community rights, land rights, rights to manage natural resources and environmental right, and alliances who rise up to support women's rights and gender justice.

Every December 18 we celebrate International Migrants’ Day. It is on this day in 1990 that the UN adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families. This convention lays out human rights principles as the basis of rights protections for migrant workers and their families in countries of origin transit and destination, without discrimination based on nationality, religion, skin color, or gender.
