May Day (May 1st) was recognized as International Labor Day. We, MAP Foundation, labor networks, and migrants, are celebrating the strength and unity of workers in Chiang Mai on May 1st of every year. This MAY Day event has been supported and organized by the 13 Northern Labor Networks working on labor issues. Various political parties, northern labor networks, and migrant workers came to share and discuss on the migrant’s issues, labor rights, and policies to help solve problems that workers are facing and promote policies to protect worker rights under labor protection laws. International Labor Day event was held from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm and the activities included submitting labor recommendations to the Chiang Mai Governor, a campaign march from Three Kings Monument to Tha Phae Gate, cultural performances, and a seminar on labor rights.
