Porticus Subgrant Project: Progress Monitoring and Working Plan Meeting On February 8-9, 2025, the Porticus Progress Monitoring and Working Plan Meeting was held at the Grand View Hotel. The meeting focused on reporting the six-month progress, Monitoring, and evaluation, sharing achievements, and discussing challenges encountered during this period. On the following day, the sub-grant group convened to project plan and activities for 2025-2026.
Through this project, migrant groups not only organize and engage in advocacy activities for migrant rights, but sub-grant leaders also develop essential skills in leadership, participatory action research (PAR), and overall project management. For some groups, such as the Agriculture Group in Pong Yang, this is their first experience undertaking this kind of work. After receiving the grant, they implemented their project by forming a community working group, initiating group activities, and participating in training sessions to enhance their skills, capacity, and project development.
Over the past years, subgrant leaders have significant growth in leadership, improve skills and the formation and strengthening of migrant community groups in various areas. These groups have played a crucial role in addressing key migrant issues, such as waste management initiatives in Pong Yang, improving access to treatment and awareness training for HIV-positive individuals, reducing domestic violence by providing training for both women and men, establishing learning centers for migrant children, and organizing training sessions for migrant workers. This collective effort has contributed to creating a more informed, resilient, and empowered migrant community.
