Every year on March 8, women and communities around the world gather to celebrate International Women’s Day, honoring the struggles and achievements of the women's movement in advancing equality and human rights in society.

For International Women’s Day 2025, civil society organizations, community-based organization in Chiang Mai—including women’s rights organizations, the Northern Labor Network, MAP Foundation, and other civil society groups—are coming together to lead rallies and activities. This event united hundreds of women to show solidarity, amplify collective voices, and demand equality.

📢 Event Highlights:

  • March from Tha Phae Gate to Three Kings Monument – Starts at 5:00 PM
    Performances & Activities – Statement reading (Thai, Burmese and English), Cultural dance, performances by networks and women's groups
  • MAP Multi-Media (MMM) & Community Health Empowerment (CHE) Program – Along with other organizations, hosting booths, engaging participants with games, and distributing IEC materials.
